Becoming a mother was one of the best gifts I could have asked for in my life. My children mean the world to me and I am very lucky to be part of their lives and have enjoyed seeing them grow into unique individuals with unique amazing gifts to share with the world.

Growing up Latina, I was raised with a global perspective and have been fortunate to have a family who is proud of our roots.  Here is our annual Merino family reunion, “La Merinada” hosted by my Aunt in Mexico City with all the cousins, second cousins and family members. This is one of my most favorite times of the year.

I believe that if we are dealt promising cards or have the network, skills or ability to help others, we should.  Here is one example of how I relish in helping others in need. In 2017 my startup, Blazin' Babes hosted a black tie charity event raising money for Syrian Refugee families. We helped hundreds of children who needed a place to play while living in Syrian refugee camps in Greece.  I hope to continue to support others in need and have an even greater and more sustainable impact in areas of women empowerment, domestic violence, financial literacy and equality for women in the workplace as well other causes that impact women and families.

As a graduate of Newton Country Day School of The Sacred Heart, Bowdoin College as well as a recipient of The Girl Scouts of America Gold Award, these institutions taught me the importance of utilizing my skills and network to give back and have impact.  In everything that I do, each project, career track or action has impact.  Here is a photo of my startup Blazin' Babes, a mission-driven B Corporation where we hosted an event that gave back to Bright Pink.  As a for-profit community startup with members who have the means to help others, it is our mission to help others in need.  Whatever I build, whomever I partner with, I ensure that kindness and giving is an underlying foundation in all my efforts and purpose.

Fashion has been my method of expressing who I am and making bold statements.  I love that I can express who I am through daily choices in what I wear.  For sure, I will be doing something in the world of fashion in my entrepreneurial pursuits.

I relish in proactive health. As a female athlete throughout my life, I have always trained.  What started as training for a sport, led to training for my mental and physical health.  Health, fitness and overall wellness has been and is a big part of my life.
